Nono Records have released Matthew's latest album PERFECT WORLD NOW POSSIBLE. The first studio album since 2004's 37203, the new release includes songs co-written in Nashville as well as Matthew's bittersweet character-based vignettes examining themes such as social media, suburban genocide, whistle-blowing, cloning, racism in the American south and mid-20th century immigration. The songs include collaborations with Don Henry (Miranda Lambert, Ray Charles) and Tom Kimmel (Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker).

PERFECT WORLD NOW POSSIBLE is available for purchase at iTunes, Amazon and for streaming at Spotify.
  • 'As a writer of witty words, as well as a pianist, Strachan’s talents are immense. At times his performance bore more than a nod to Billy Joel with a liberal twist of Tom Lehrer thrown in, mixing humour and wry political comment, with outstanding keyboard skills.'
    Public Reviews

'Not all his songs are easy listening. There is some political content - a satirical number called 'Me oh my oh Monica' about a young lady who achieved fame through an American president and a rather salacious number called 'Messy Love' ; Comedy numbers about social networking 'Hands up - who's looking at me?' and about 'Mills and Boon ' novels. My favourite song of his is a wry song about the perfect husband and a jealous would be lover. 'She can do better than him'. But all are interesting. He never repeats himself and it is pure entertainment all the way through.'
